Driver's License Issued to Self-Driving Car
The Las Vegas Motor Vehicle Department recently issued a driver's license to Google's
self-driving car, making it the first autonomous vehicle to operate legally on standard roadways
without the need for human intervention.
Originally released in 2010, the driverless car uses a combination of radar (radio detection and ranging), lidar (light detection and ranging), video sensors and aggregated data from human drivers to navigate safely.
