Real-Time Translator App

Google recently announced the release of Pixel Buds, a new set of earbuds that enables real-time, two-way translation on demand. Compatible with the Pixel 2 phone, the headset can also be used to make phone calls and listen to music, but when used in conjunction with Google Translate, they enable a user to communicate in 40 different languages.

Pressing a button on the right earbud activates the Google Assistant. Say “Let me speak Japanese,” and your speech is automatically translated into Japanese and projected through the phone’s speakers. The translated reply is routed through the earbuds – like having your own personal translator.

Pixel Buds have a battery life of about five hours and currently list for $159.
